Unhappy with her deep smile lines and the down-turned corners on her mouth, this 59 year old woman wanted a non-surgical treatment that could minimize these creases in her skin. She decided to speak with a specialist at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates to consult with her about the treatments available for skin care in Los Angeles.
When she met with one of our skin care professionals, she was fully informed about the non-surgical treatments that could be used to smooth out her smile lines and around the corner of her mouth. After careful consideration, she chose to have 3 cc's of Perlane® injected into her nasolabial folds and creases around her mouth.
Perlane, a cosmetic dermal filler, is often used to fill in lines or soften wrinkles. A Perlane injection consists of hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring skin hydrator that becomes depleted with age. The Perlane filler caused the areas where this woman's lines were treated to be filled in and given more volume.
As you can see in the "after" photo, there is already a difference in the smoothness of the lines surrounding her mouth. This treatment typically lasts about 6 to 8 months before a touch up is necessary, which is a much longer time than many currently available types of fillers. Overall, her treatment with Perlane in Los Angeles went very well.
