Breast Lift Incision Techniques
At Marina Plastic Surgery in Los Angeles breast lift procedures can be adapted using various incision techniques based on the type of patient and the desired result. Here are 3 of the most commonly used breast lift techniques:
Anchor (Traditional) Breast Lift - The most traditional technique. This procedure involves an incision around the areola, vertically down the breast from the nipple to the breast line and along the breast fold in a crescent incision (resembling an anchor). This technique is best suited for those who have significant sagging as it allows for the removal of larger amounts of tissue and skin.
Lollipop (Vertical) Breast Lift - This technique involves only two of the incisions; around the areola and vertically down the breast. There is no crescent incision along the fold of the breast. A lollipop lift is best suited for women with moderate drooping.
Donut (Circumareolar) Breast Lift - This technique involves a singular incision around the circumference of the areola. A donut lift would only be employed where there was only minor sagging.
