LOS ANGELES, May 17, 2005 - Two of the most exciting and groundbreaking procedures to hit the Anti-Aging scene are now being administered in combination at Marina Plastic Surgery, a Southern California medical center focusing on rejuvenation and cosmetic enhancement. Fraxel Laser, FDA-approved in July 2004, is a new development in laser skin programs. It produces similar results as deep chemical or laser peels without the trauma of removing layers of skin. Working similarly to a computer program, Fraxel Laser treats skin "pixel by pixel" instead of as a total surface treatment. By only treating "pixels" of skin, Fraxel Laser allows surrounding cells to remain untreated and able to help treated cells heal faster. ThermaCool operates similarly, as a noninvasive "face lift" treatment. Instead of working "pixel by pixel," ThermaCool treats the deep layers of skin via radio frequencies. By targeting deep layers of the skin, new collagen fibers are generated, creating a firmer and tighter structure under sagging or wrinkled skin. Skin becomes tauter and smoother. Loose skin is pulled back into place, making it an ideal treatment along jaw lines, on the forehead and around the eyes.
